Happy New Year... a little late I know
It was a mad holiday season for me and Tony, we had plans to go to Sydney on the 20th of December so before we even left we had to celebrate Christmas with all our friends in San Francisco and the bay area. Many evenings were spent out partying and drinking. College finally came to an end and again I did well in all of my subjects, even biology. Work came to a close for the quarter and I had a few days to myself to relax and prepare for the trip. However, typically I ended up with a stinking cold and could do much of anything.
We jumped on the plan on the 20th, knocked ourselves out for the duration and woke up in Sydney on December 22nd, where it was raining and there was thunder and lightning, BOO SYDNEY, what happened to summer?!
Tony and I had purchased some duty free vodka and bourbon so after meeting Patrick and Dan at the airport we headed to Dan and Eric's, where we'd be staying for the first half of our trip, and opened up the bottles. If I remember rightly, someone came over and joined us and I believe tht someone was James, but who can be certain of anything when you drink so much after taking sedatives. In the late afternoon we had a catnap and then James, (for sure this time), Dan and I headed out to the shift where Dan was playing the opening set. We continued the debarcle and drinking and I met some of Dan's friends and James and I did a little jig or two. When Dan came off we only stayed for a little longer and then headed to grab some dodgy food and go home to bed. After a little chit chat on the balcony of course.
The rain continued, as did my cold, and the next few days we spent hanging out with those that were in town and not off with their families for the holidays. Eric cooked a fabulous meal on the Friday and Hank, Brian and Amanda came over. I had been sleeping for most of the day, but bounced up and joined our guests for food and conversation. It was so good to catch up with everyone again, it seems like time has gone by so quickly, but we all just fall back into place in our friendships and then carry on where we left off.
Eric left to see his Family on Christmas Eve, so Christmas Day morning Tony, Dan, James and I went out for Christmas brunch together before Dan also headed off to spend some time with his family. The weather was still not pretty so Tony and I were thinking of also heading up north in the hope to catch some sunshine. We dropped Dan at the airport after brunch and then headed back to the apartment for a quick cat nap and some TV. I drifted off to sleep on the coach only to wake up a few hours later with the sun shining in through the doors to the balcony. At last the ray of sunshine we'd been hoping for. We celebrated with a few cocktails and our friend Sam had just landed in from New Zealand for a fly by trip so he came and joined us.
Jake Kilby was hosting an Orphan christmas party in the evening, so once Eric returned home from his folks we showered and then caught a cab over to Jake's house. Everyone was in the garden drinking wine and enjoying the pleasent evening so we opened up a bottle and joined the fun. Dan had been telling me about these games that Jake had for the Playstation that were a lot of fun, Buzz and Singing Star. Well they are a lot of fun, Buzz is a quiz game and there are four paddle controllers that give you four chice buttons and a big red button for pressing when you know the answer. We played the music trivia game and I am afraid after a great start I did very poorly.
Next Jake brought out two microphones and put in a new game, I had switched to vodka by now so was nice and toasty. He handed one mic to Eric and the other to me and then we had to sing along with the songs we picked matching the tempo and pitch changes accordingly to gain a rating. After Eric and I had been at it for quite some time, Jake tells us to keep it down as his mother is asleep upstairs. I handed the mic back to him and said that it was a bad idea letting me have a mic if someone, especially his Mum, was asleep, he said that was okay and they could turn th mic down at which point Eric told him he already had. Time to stop!!

Keep on spinning...
Have been traveling quite a lot recently, so sorry I haven't kept things up to date, but what can a gurl do?!
Our Hawaii trip was fabulous. Tony and I arrived a day before everyone else and just hung out in the hotel and its bar/restuarant. We started off in the afternoon with a Mai Tai each, Kim had told me there was nothing like a Hawaiin Mai Tai, she was right they were yummy. Couldn't have too many though as they are pretty sweet.
We went up to the room for an afternoon nap and watched Superman Returns on PPV. I liked it, Tony says the effects would look much better on the big screen, but there wasn't much else on the list that either of us wanted to watch.
That evening we had dinner in the restuarant and then headed back upstairs after a few cocktails for a fairly early night. The following morning we sat looking out at the sea and continued after breakfast with some mohitos before jumping in a cab to go and meet the boys back at the airport. They were delayed and so we sat in this dirty little cafe across the road from the airport that stank of frying oil, not as much fun as it might sound. However, things brightened when all boys arrived and we picked up the rental car and drove to the house.
The house was cool, right on the beach, and slept about 12 people, although there were only 9 of us so there was plenty of room. We went down to the beach that evening after dinner and the moon was big and bright over the water and we could see the stars really clearly.
The Monday was Kevin and Palmer's 50th birthday, they're twins, and so we got up early in the day and some of the boys went out to buy provisions, mostly booze bless them, but also food for the birthday dinner. The rest of us went down to the beach and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. The beach had coral reefs less than 20 feet from the shoreline. Filer found a stash of goodies below the house and drag a couple of boxes down to the beach. There were snorkels and flippers, frisbees, a kayak and paddle, etc... so Trish, Filer and I went snorkeling. The water was amazingly clear and there was an abundance of marine life within minutes of entering the water. We swam around for about45 mins, working our way along the beach between the huge walls of coral. We came a little bit too close to the coral on our way out of the sea, we should have gone a little further out and round, but I managed not to touch the coral or scrape myself, and was very pleased not to come into contact with any of the evil looking black sea urchins.
When we arrived back at our little camp there was a horde of school children right next to us, probably about 40, and they were being taught swimming techniques and water safety skills. It seem to go on forever and they were fairly noisy, but we cranked up our music and battled through it, eventually they left, phew!! We had lunch on the beach and contiued with drinking and enjoying the beautiful day. We finished the day with dominoes and cards and a fabulous dinner cooked by Kevin.
Tuesday was Halloween and we were all flying to Honolulu for my gig at Hulas. Our flight was at 1pm and we landed in Honlulu around 2 where it was pouring with rain. We caught a mini bus to our hotel and checked into our rooms. I had worked myself up and was getting fairly nervous so I stayed in the room and tried to nap whilst the others went for a walk and had some food. I didn't sleep at all and as the evening drew closer I started to feel pretty sick. I got showered and dressed into my military outfit and Tony came back with some food for me. I couldn't even eat the food and was starting to worry that I was getting sick and it wasn't just nerves, I very rarely get that nervous about a gig. Tony looked sexy in his doctors outfit and Michele arrived dressed as a hot nurse, in fact extra hot since the outfit was made of PVC!!
We headed down to the bar seeing lots of people dressed for Halloween. Tony said there were people everywhere on the street dressed for the night and there was definitely a party mood permeating everything. The bar wasn't super busy when we arrived, maybe just under half capacity, but it didn't take long before the place started to fill. By the time I had got to my third song and everything was going well my nerves had gone and I got into the music and I was enjoying myself and really getting into the music. The gig went really well and I had a lot of people come up and tell me that they enjoyed my set. About a third of the way through the music was lowered so that they could have the best outfit competition and there was a small parade on the main floor and people cheered for their favourite costumes. The over all winner was a guy dressed in a sixties waitress outfit, including rollerskates, with the nametag Peggy Sue. My favourite outfit was Steve Irwin and the sting ray, so bad taste.
I returned to Hulas on the Saturday and played an encore gig and was aksed to come back again for New Years Eve. I will be in Sydney so wasn't able to agree to that gig. Hopefully I'll go back sometime early next year and play there again.
Back in Kona Tony and I booked a helicopter trip around the island to see the volcanoes and lava flows and the huge waterfalls. We got up early and headed to the site. We shared a ride with six other passengers and the pilot. I was on the outside by the window with Tony on my left. We were very lucky with the weather as it wasn't very windy and we were able to see everything. We flew over to the volcanoes and lava flows first, Kona's volcanoes are still active and the lava is constantly flowing out into the sea, increasing the land mass everyday. Todays flows are going straight into the sea, but previous eruptions have destroyed homes and land leaving behing black and brown volcanic rocks in big sweeping pathways. Plants grow back quickly on the side of the island that gets most of the rain, but where there is little rain the rocks remain barren.
Next we flew on to the waterfalls, thousands of feet high with water cascading down sheer cliff faces. Again due to the good weather we were able to fly all the way down one valley and right over into the next, this is sometimes not possible and the time it takes to fly back out and around means you get to see less.
Other than that much of the week was spent at the beach in the day, snorkeling, kayaking, drinking and sunbathing and at night playing cards or dominoes and eating and drinking. We went to a fabulous restaurant and had wonderful melt in your mouth steaks. We flew back to SF from Honolulu since I played there on the Saturday night.

BPM DJ T-Shirt Signing
I was asked at Orgy by Randy aka 'Scorpio' to sign the BPM T-Shirt, it has been doing the rounds and has been signed by many DJ's a lot more famous than myself, some examples are Chris Cox, Hex Hector (one of my idols), Luke Hope, Tracy Young, Junior Vasquez, etc... you get the picture. The T-shirt is going to be auctioned off on the Ellen Degeneres show to raise money for charity so I feel really priveliged to have been asked to participate in the signing. The money raised is going to be put towards AIDS and Breast Cancer research.

Champion Dog
Last weeked Carmen was entered into her first round of shows. She competed in five shows over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and came away with a second place and three first place ribbons. Not bad for her first round. She has acheived certification now and so the next step is to train her towards becoming a champion. If she reaches that stage then she will get to have a CH in front of her name and her puppies will be very special, especially if we breed her with a male champ.
Keira is a little champion in her own right and has been super cute while Carmen was away training. She loves to play chasing games where you run at her so she runs away and then you run back to where you came from and she comes to get you. It is very funny to watch, particularly when she runs onto the matt in the kitchen and it slides along until it hits the back door, all the whjile she's trying to gain momentum in the opposite direction to come back at you.
I played Orgy not last weekend but the weekend before and it was the underwear party. I purchased some Hello Kitty shorts for the event but didn't expect I would strip out of my clothes. The gig went well and was really busy by the time I came off and Rob Kaftan came on. I went down to the bar to socialize, and drink, and Eric McMahon and I hung out and partied together for a while. He did, however, strip me of my clothes in less than two inutes so my hello Kitty pants got to see the party after all.

Tony and I fly to Hawaii this Saturday. We are staying for a week to celebrate Palmer's 50th birthday, man he looks good for 50. I also have two gis at Hula's in Honolulu. One is on Halloween and the other on the following Saturday. We're staying on the big island so we have to catch and island hopper flight on both occassions but the others will all be joining us and I am certain it'll be a blast. The Halloween event is uniform and so I have a great desert military outfit to wear.

Twice in one week...
I must have a fever, writing twice so close together...
New York was great. The four hand massage was amazing, as was the facial, but the massage was almost erotic, having two people rub your body in unison and so relaxing. After the massage I took a quick nap upstairs and then Tony, Ross, Kim and I went down to the restuarant/bar to have dinner before the event began. I had a gorgeous strip steak with pureed potatoes and chard, so yummy, I know Tony had lobster because it looked scary, but I am sure he enjoyed it.
Just before 9pm I headed back up to the room to freshen up and collect my CD's and gear, taking the lift back down at arounf 9:20. People had already begun arriving so I did a quick sweep of meet and greets before settling behind the decks and spinning into the night. The set went well and I mixed new with old, funk and soul with electro and everyone said they enjoyed the music. We closed down around 1am, the bar staff were a little overwhelmed and needed time to close down, that's just like our friends to keep the barmen on their toes and pouring all night.
After I had run my bags upstairs and changed my trainers, shirt and belt buckle, I re-joined the group and we walked to The Town House. It was about a 10 minute walk and was the only known place to have a late license. The crowd was reminiscent of CXR79 from London, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of CXR79 anyone under the age of 60 was considered young and hot. However, we were a large group and as always it doesn't matter where you go but who you go with. We drank into the night and Rose even took up the mic at the piano and sang the bar a song. Fabulous.
We finished the night back at our apartment, about 10 of us, had a few more drinks and then called it a night at around 7am. Tony and I retired to the bedroom and the posturpeadic mattress, which I am still not sure whether I liked or not, and slept till 2.
Our flight home was just after 6pm, we had confirmed upgrades to first class and the two stewards that worked our section were a lovely couple and one of which had been our steward on a previous flight. Needless to say our sista's took great care of us and the journey was as pleasent as a six hour flight can be. Except for Tony spilling a glass of water all over himself within the first hour and then later another over me, lol.
Our hawaii trip is at the end of this month and I am really looking forward to seeing Palmer and Chad and to playing at Hula's.
